Black Bridge Winery 2009 Reserve Pinot Noir
By Jacob Harkins | Local Winos Media founder
Some still question whether Pinot Noir is a viable grape option in Colorado. Well, it is in Paonia most years. Need proof? Just look to Black Bridge Winery. It has, count ‘em, three single vineyard Pinots from the 2009 vintage alone. They are all pretty good, too.
It’s Reserve offers wafts of flower fields and cherries in a pungent nose. It’s smooth with solid acid structure in the mouth, with balanced booze and oak levels throughout. The cherries come back, mixing with a fun caramel pop on the finish.
It’s fruity, fun and light. It could make a nice companion to your Thanksgiving table this season.
Who should drink this wine: Fans of a fruity, straight-forward approach to a Colorado Pinot.
